Antique Gustavian Sofa - Sweden, 1800

This Gustavian sofa is both beautiful and practical. The back and sides are rectangular with vertical slats on the sides and horizontal slats on the back. Each corner is surmounted with a gadrooned finial ending with a turned and tapered leg. The finish has been scraped to reveal much of the original white paint. Newly upholstered in red & gold toile and check fabric.
